The AFO (Leaf Spring) brace is made of injected thermoplastic and graphene particles. The design provides elasticity at the Achilles tendon for plantar flexion and dorsiflexion movement while walking to prevent the foot from dropping, particularly in the swing phase, and keeping the foot at a 90º angle. The brace allows for minor adaptations and modifications by applying heat with a hot air gun. It includes a magnet-close strap for easier fitting. These types of closures enable a safe quick-close without much effort, which is particularly important for those with reduced mobility. They allow more autonomous use by patients with reduced mobility or those who encounter difficulties handling traditional closures. The brace includes size indications on the sole in the form of visual marks on the bottom of the brace in the sole area. These indications enable a more personalised fit.
Patients in general suffering from limitation of dorsal flexion of the foot. Hemiplegia due to cerebrovascular accidents (stroke), after-effects of flaccid paralysis. Retraction of the Achilles tendon. Injuries of the external sciatic popliteal nerve. The brace must not be used in patients with varus or valgus deviation of the rear foot, or in cases of spastic paralysis.
